I suppose it's time to introduce myself. My real name is Rebecca. I am a Wiccan, and I am proud to say it. If this offends anyone, I'm sorry, but it's your decision to be offended, and it's not like you have to be.

No, I do not worship Satan. I do not believe in the Christian aspect of an evil demon punishing us for all eternity after we die. I will not go into detail about my religion, unless you specifically ask me to, in which case we will converse through notes.

I do not hex others, and other than minor blessings, I won't even perform a ritual for someone unless they have asked me to. In most cases, my friends will ask me to pray for their family members who are sick, and so on. They do not know I'm Wiccan, but a prayer is a prayer in any religion.

I do not dislike Christians for their religion, nor do I dislike them as people. I dislike having their religion shoved down my throat as the only way, and their telling me I'll be banished to Hell if I don't change my wicked ways. Truth be told, several Christian holidays were created so Pagan holidays weren't the only ones being celebrated at that time.

Christ's birth, for example, was never given a date. The end of December was widely known as the Winter Solstice, the time when the Sun God was reborn to the Virgin Goddess. Christmas was created by Christians, so that their religion had a celebration to practice as well.

It is also a widely known fact that in the days before 'burning', Christians taught that witches did not exist at all. It was only after more people began seeing the Pagan traditions as correct, that they saw Paganism as a threat. This is where burning began, and if we want to say that Christianity is the only true way, then how could they use the name of God as their reason for brutal murder, when it clearly states in the Bible, that murder is not allowed?

Wiccans do have rules, but unlike the Commandments in the Bible, they are given to us as a guideline, allowing us to grow and formulate our own morals by reacting to different situations throughout life. We believe that what we give out, we will receive back. I do not believe in the Threefold Law as gospel, since it's obvious things don't always return three times as bad or good. I view the Law as a reminder that if we send negative energies into the Circle of Life, eventually those negative energies will strengthen and return to us. Same goes for positive energies.

Now that I've successfully ranted about religion, when I said I wasn't going to.. let's move on. I was raised in a Christian household, but something about it never felt quite right to me. I've had experiences with my personal Spirit Guide, and have been able to channel bits of the future since I was a child. My parents wanted me to go to a Psychiatrist after I began 'seeing' an animal that I could channel thoughts with. I knew she was real, despite what everyone told me, so I pretended she didn't exist so they wouldn't intervene.

I never could grasp the concept of a God punishing us for living our lives in a way that seems quite normal, in my opinion. Sex is a gift that is given to us to cherish. I do not believe in sexual promiscuity, nor do I condone having sex as a teenager. I do, however, think that it's perfectly acceptable to have sex with someone of great importance in your life.

Granted, this person may not be the one you live with the rest of your life, but if you share a connection, then why deny the gift that the Universe has given you?
